CRICKET FORCE 2007
Finchingfield Cricket Club was proud to be a part of the ECB Cricket Force 2007. Cricket Force encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.
The aims of the weekend for Finchingfield CC were as follows:
1. Fundraising - along with our newly announced sponsorship deal with Carl Fisher Estate Agents, we were able to Raise £160 with a raffle of cricket memorabilia.
2. Return of the roller from Wethersfield CC - Thanks to Ridgeons for their assistance.
3. Celebrate the reforming of the club - Thanks to Zafra restaurant.
4. Improve the nets area.
5. Start work on the square - including re-furbishing the mowers.
6. Paint and tidy the equipment shed.
7. Improve the Profile of/Advertise the club - to encourage new players and supporters.
We were rewarded with good weather and a visit from Grant Flower (Essex CCC and Zimbabwe), Jahid Ahmed (Essex CCC), and Pete Williams (Essex CCC Development Manager). Pete also delivered a brand new Junior kit bag and tickets to an Essex CCC one day game as well.
All in all, it was a very successful event for the club, one that was enjoyed by all and well worth the time and effort!! A Big Thank You to all involved.
